Why "migration"? Why "Destination Europe?"

Hello everyone! It's so soon that our event will be realized, before packing our motivations, ideas, enthusiasm, and backpacks, I wanted to share my analysis about migration :) So we will try to adopt ourselves slowly to our theme and increase our (already high) motivation...

Because for me:

Migration is human-being.
Migration is human rights.
Migration is culture.
Migration is mediation.
Migration is integration.
Migration is cultural exchange.
Migration is citizen.
Migration is mobility.
Migration is being active citizen.
Migration is democracy.
Migration is peace.
Migration is network.
Migration is “other”.
Migration is tolerance.
Migration is “cross-border”
Migration is borderless.
Migration is universal.
Migration is globalization.
Migration is European, National, Regional
Migration is policy.
Migration is being politic.
Migration is equality.
Migration is being active.
Migration is activity.
Migration is activism.
Migration is open.
Migration is YOUth.
Migration is today.
Migration is tomorrow.

Migration takes courage
And a quotation...

“As times goes by the continent is also experiencing an enlargement of what it means to be European. I look forward to day when Europe rejoices as much in diversity within States as it does in diversity between them” Kofi Annan...

Greetings.

Hope everything is fine. Ceren, I admire your very colorful opinion on migration. I also agree that intercultural diversity is good, and healthy, but, like everything, it should have its limits. And here, I am talking on Legal and permitted migration.

Illegal immigration is another story. I, and like many other youths in Malta do not have such a colorful view on these migrants. Unfortunately, such large influx of migrants bring nothing but tension, pressure, uncomfortable situations and uneasy concerns. It is a known fact, that we, as an island cannot sustain such a number of illegal immigrants, which are living on our own taxes. They even get a free healthcare, something which even legal migrants, or tourists do not get.

Let alone the hazards on the streets, and the crime which these people are doing.

Ceren, while I admire your positive attitude, I say that yes, I had the same attitude towards these migrants, and a very colorful indeed, but they, and their attitude turned the colours into plain monochromatic black and white dull picture.

Dear William,

Thanks for your comment that proves and justifies our projects again! :)

That's why we should make more projects to understand them, to explain us, to make emphaty, to think from other points of views, to make this issue colourful for everyone...

Hope to see you during event and discuss all these face to face :)

Cheers,
